Welcome to Sutton Primary Academy, thank you for considering us in your search for the best school for your child. We hope that you will find our prospectus interesting and informative and most of all, that it will give you an insight into what our school has to offer.

We are very proud of Sutton Primary Academy and hope that you see that our school is an exciting place to be, full of happy, confident, well-motivated children and an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff.

Once a small village school, Sutton Primary Academy has grown in size and we offer single form entry throughout the school with the exception of one class containing two year groups. Our school building is very modern having been built in 2008 and it’s modern architecture makes the most of its village location surrounded by beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

Here, we recognise that every child is an individual with the potential to succeed. With this in mind, we aim to create a warm, engaging learning environment to help our children to develop the confidence and positive attitude to always achieve their best.

We achieve high standards both academically and socially. Achievement and attainment is high year on year and in our last Ofsted, behaviour and attitude of the children was deemed to be outstanding.

We are very proud of our broad and balanced curriculum. Emphasis is placed on offering a creative, inspiring and motivating curriculum which excites and enthuses our pupils and involves them in their own learning. We have superb outdoor classroom environments including free flow opportunities for Reception and Year 1 pupils, a spacious sports field, Forest School area, a small allotment and a pond area, all of which extend and enhance the high quality learning that goes on inside the school.

We believe that we have developed a school full of happy children working hard in surroundings, including strong links with the whole community, where everyone feels valued. Where possible we become involved with community events and we welcome the Parish Reverend in to lead regular assemblies with the children.

We are proud to be part of an exciting Federation of schools together with Lord Scudamore Academy, Canon Pyon CE Academy, Kings Caple Academy, Llangrove CE Academy, St Weonards Primary School and Marden Primary School. This Federation provides us with a lively and welcoming community of like-minded pupils, staff and parents who all wish to share in a broad and balanced curriculum as well as create really exciting opportunities for us all to work together. Through shared resources and specialist skills teachers, we take care to ensure our children get the most out of these links.

We place a strong emphasis on effective communication and partnerships with parents and hope you will take advantage of our ‘open door’ policy if you have any queries or concerns. We look forward to working closely with you and your family, to ensure that all children continue to achieve the best that they possibly can.
